Isaac Herzog was born in Tel Aviv in 1960. He served as an officer in the IDF Intelligence Corps and became senior partner in one of Israel's leading Law firms, until pursuing a career in Israeli public service in 1999.
In 2003, Mr. Herzog was elected member of Israel's parliament, the Knesset, and went on to hold several parliamentary and ministerial posts, including Leader of the Opposition. He served as a Member of Israel's Security Cabinet and as Government Coordinator for the Provision of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza. 
In 2018 Mr. Herzog was appointed Chairman of The Jewish Agency for Israel, the largest Jewish NGO in the world. On July 7, 2021 Isaac Herzog was sworn in as the 11th President of the State of Israel, and has since worked to unite Israel's diverse communities and assumed a prominent role in Israel's international diplomacy.
Mr. Herzog is the son of Israel's sixth President and former Ambassador to the UN Chaim Herzog. He is married to Michal and they have three sons.
