Fellow: American Academy of Arts and Sciences; American Philosophical Society; Council on Foreign Relations. Has written on democracy, justice and methods of social inquiry. Author of books, including: The Flight From Reality in the Human Sciences; The Real World of Democratic Theory; Containment: Rebuilding a Strategy against Global Terror. Co-Author, Death by a Thousand Cuts: The Fight Over Taxing Inherited Wealth.
