Flavia Bustreo

Member of the Board, Botnar Foundation

Dr. Flavia Bustreo is a leading public health professional and advocate for the health and human rights of women, children, adolescents and the elderly, and for taking action on the social and environmental determinants of health including the health impacts of climate change. From 2010-2017, she was the Assistant Director-General for Family, Women’s and Children’s Health at the World Health Organization, during which time she also served as co-Chair of the Board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance (2015-2017). Previously, Dr Bustreo was the Executive Director of the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH), and served in a variety of roles at WHO, UNICEF, the World Bank, and as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Norway. Currently Dr. Flavia Bustreo is a board member of Fondation Botnar and chair of the Governance committee for the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, and board member for the United Nation University Institute of Global Health.
