Falah Al Ahbabi is the General Manager of the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) and is responsible for the the management and implementation of the urban structure framework plans within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. These include Plan Capital 2030, Plan Al Ain 2030 and very shortly, the Plan Al Gharbia 2030.
Falah played a key role in the launch the UPC in 2007. His leadership has guided the growth of the organization to from 4 to 200 highly qualified technical professionals from the UAE and globally.
This Vision 2030 initiative has required Falah to liaise and coordinate with various government entities and private sector organizations. This interagency co-operation has been critical to the acknowledged success of the UPC.
Prior to joining the UPC, Falah Al Ahbabi played a pivotal role in establishing the first helicopter academy in the Middle East. He was also involved in the launch of a satellite whilst working with the Mubadala Development Company. Other highlights of Falah’s career include the privatization of Government services and a global experience in utilities. Falah has a degree in Management from the California State University.
