Esther Dweck, Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services and Professor at the Institute of Economics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IE-UFRJ). She holds a PhD in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2006), with a doctoral stay at the Laboratory of Economics and Management (LEM) at Scuola Sant'Anna, in Pisa, Italy. She coordinates the Public Sector Economics Research Group at IE-UFRJ and develops research mainly on the following topics: fiscal regime and State participation, demand-led growth, micro-macro integration, input-output analysis and simulation models. Between June 2011 and March 2016, she served as the Chief Economic Advisor (2011-2014) and as the Federal Budget Secretary (2015-2016) at the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management.
