Elizabeth Tate

Director, Global Sustainability, Clarios

Elizabeth Tate is the Director of Energy and Environmental Policy & Global Corporate Sustainability at Johnson Controls (JCI), a leader in energy efficiency, energy storage and building technology solutions. In this role, she is responsible for external engagement on federal energy, environmental and climate change policy, as well as leading the company’s enterprise-wide sustainability program.
Elizabeth joined JCI in 2015 as the Director of Public Policy in the Washington D.C. office. Previously, she was the Senior Policy Director at the Alliance to Save Energy, an energy efficiency advocacy organization. She has also served as Committee Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology and as a Government Relations Manager for the American Public Gas Association.
Elizabeth began her career as an attorney at Fried Frank LLP in New York, where she specialized in Environmental and Land Use Law. She holds a B.A. in History and Psychology from the University of Virginia (Wahoowa!), a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, and a Certificate of Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School.
