Cornelius Kalenzi

Postdoctoral Researcher, Korea Policy Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)

Cornelius Kalenzi is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Korea Policy Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. from KAIST, specializing in information and telecommunication Engineering and Management- specifically focusing on Fintech and the Banking Industry in the developing countries. He is currently finishing his training in blockchain Strategy at the University of Oxford-Said Business School. His current research explores the technological, business, and social-economic impacts of digital innovations including artificial intelligence, blockchain, and financial technologies- aiming to pioneer new approaches to technology, policy, and governance issues accompanying the Fourth Industrial Revolution. His scholarly research includes publications and presentations in international forums such as European Commission-JRC, International Telecommunication Society (ITS) among others. Prior to KAIST, Dr. Kalenzi worked and collaborated with Uganda’s Ministry of ICT and the National IT Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) to initiate and conduct National digitalization projects including Uganda’s e-Government Master plan, feasibility study on integrated data center and PKI system, national enterprise architecture and interoperability framework, Information Access Center among others. In the banking industry – he has proposed Agency Banking Innovations to Uganda’s retail banks. Dr. Kalenzi is also a Co-founder and Partner of Tella (https://tella.co.kr/tutor) – a digital and big data startup that is pioneering new approaches to English learning in Korea and Asia, with offices in Kampala, Seoul and the Philippines.
