Co-Founder and CEO of Bota Biosciences, an industrial biotechnology company with global operations that connects advanced synthetic biology capabilities to real-world applications. Trained as a biomedical engineer, Cheryl earned her joint PhD in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics from MIT and Harvard Medical School. Her research in building synthetic gene circuits and molecular systems has been published in both Science and Nature. Her professional drive is focused on identifying and translating technologies that can address critical unmet needs. Prior to Bota, Cheryl was the founding partner of Nest.Bio, an incubation platform for early-stage life sciences companies. Nest.Bio has seeded and supported over 200 companies across many geographies. Her contributions to the field have been recognized by MIT Technology Review's 35 Innovators Under 35, and she has been listed among Forbes China's 50 Women In Tech.
