Charlotte Stix is a Research Associate on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, University of Cambridge. She also advises ElementAI on European AI policy. Formerly at the European Commission's Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Unit, where she oversaw a total of €18 million in Robotics and AI projects and contributed to the formulation of EU-wide AI strategy as its youngest ever team member. Prior, a Policy Officer at the World Future Council, where she represented the rights of Future Generations, worked on policy solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals and advocated for the safe and ethical development of emerging technologies. Before that she founded an award winning culture magazine, exploring the intersection between design and technology, while managing a team of 15 freelancers across three different continents. Charlotte is co-founder of The Consciousness Lab, a non-profit investigating the impact of AI in various under-researched global regions. She holds a MSc with a focus on cognitive sciences and brain machine interfaces, as well as additional degrees in philosophy, fashion design, and performing arts.
