Carlos Emilio Larreátegui is an influential Ecuadorian leader revolutionizing higher education and advancing social impact through innovative public policy. With a Master’s in Public Policy from Oxford and an MBA from Harvard, he combines top-tier education with a strong dedication to Ecuador’s development. After managing university endowments at JP Morgan in New York, Carlos returned to Ecuador to lead initiatives at Universidad de las Américas (UDLA), the country’s largest private university. As Chief of Staff, he launched the Se Puede program, offering full scholarships to nearly 100,000 small farmers, mostly women, to enhance agricultural practices. He also spearheaded UDLA's EDGE-certified campus, partnering with the Inter-American Development Bank to set new standards for sustainable educational infrastructure in Latin America. Now Vice Chancellor at UDLA, Carlos drives strategic initiatives, reshaping Ecuador’s higher education landscape. He is also an active mentor and advisor, serving on various boards, including the Italian-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
