Wenjia Cai is professor of global change economics in Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University, China. Her research group is particularly focusing on the health and economic impacts of action and inaction on climate change, as well as how these impacts are distributed among different regions and groups of people. She is also working on the design of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality pathways. She has been an author on 100+ peer-reviewed publications. She is now the director of The Lancet Countdown Regional Centre for Asia and leads the China Report of the Lancet Countdown on health and climate change. She also serves as the member of Global Air Pollution and Health - Technical Advisory Group of the World Health Organization.
