Bernise Ang

Chief Alchemist, Zeroth Labs

Bernise Ang is Chief Alchemist at Zeroth Labs, a research lab applying the science of complex systems to global “wicked problems.” She supports multilateral, civil society and government institutions, in Singapore and internationally, on applying systems approaches and strategic foresight to policy challenges. She led UNDP Asia Pacific’s first systems thinking initiative, advising the Bhutanese government on youth unemployment. Her research explores the application of complexity science to the network properties that shape stability and urban dynamics. She has also developed systems thinking and complexity science programmes for NUS Medicine and other parts of the university.

Bernise has spoken on urban innovation and complex systems at Harvard Business School, SXSW, and WEF. Her career has also spanned private equity investment and co-founding Syinc, a youth nonprofit in Singapore. She is an Obama Scholar, Fellow at the National University of Singapore, and Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.
