Alicia Chong Rodriguez is the Founder and CEO of Bloomer Tech®, a company dedicated to ending the delayed diagnosis of cardiovascular disease in women. Bloomer Tech has developed and validated the Bloomer TAG (Tech-Augmented Garment), a medical-grade smart bra embedded with multimodal textile sensors. This groundbreaking technology generates the first digital biomarker platform tailored to female physiology, enabling earlier detection, treatment guidance, and more timely therapeutic interventions, addressing one of the largest diagnostic blind spots in cardiovascular care.
Alicia’s work builds on her graduate research at MIT, where she developed sex-specific, computationally generated cardiac biomarkers at the MIT Computational Cardiovascular Research Group. She received the Biennial MIT Graduate Women of Excellence Award, was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, and her TED Talk, “A Smart Bra for Better Heart Health,” has garnered more than 1.9 million views.
Under her leadership, Bloomer Tech has been recognized by the National Institutes of Health, the American College of Cardiology, and most recently received the 2025 Wenger Award for Excellence in Innovation.
