Bundeswehr University Munich was founded in 1973 in order to provide academic training for officers and officer candidates. It has some 2,800 registered students, including 400 women, approximately 30 international officers and 250 civilian students. It offers a diverse range of studies in two domains: University and University of Applied Sciences. Teaching and research are conducted independently at the Bundeswehr University. Excellent scientific facilities enable internationally competitive research at a high level.
