Sonidos de la Tierra (Sounds of the Earth), founded in 2002, is a social programme that uses orchestras to foster social entrepreneurship and community transformation. It has become one of the two most powerful emblems of social change in Paraguay. It has allowed direct access to music education to more than 18,500 children and youths with scarce resources in more than 200 communities in Paraguay through the formation of music schools, choirs, orchestras, cultural associations and philharmonic societies, and instrumental workshops.
