Solar Sister

Solar Sister empowers women in rural and underserved communities in Africa to build their own businesses to bring clean energy to their communities. Using a sustainable, market-based business model that combines women's economic empowerment and last mile distribution, since 2010, Solar Sister has supported women to create over 3,000 sustainable, income-generating businesses providing light and energy to benefit over 1 million people. Over the next five years, Solar Sister will deepen and expand impact by strengthening the entrepreneur network and expanding it to 10,000 women entrepreneurs to reach 10 million people across five countries in Africa.
