SecondBite ensures access to fresh, nutritious food for people in need across Australia by rescuing and redistributing surplus fresh food, building community capacity in food skills and nutrition, and advocating for an end to food insecurity. By rescuing fresh food headed for landfill, SecondBite saves water and energy and reduces pollution. By providing fresh produce and building healthy eating skills, it improves the health and well-being of vulnerable Australians, breaking the cycle of disadvantage. It supplies 1,500 community food programmes.
