
Rimba Makmur Utama implements a sustainable land-use model by reducing deforestation and degradation, promoting conservation, enhancing ecological integrity, and growing economic opportunities for rural communities in Central Kalimantan where it implements the Katingan Peatland Restoration and Conservation Project. The project protects and restores large areas of peat swamp forest while offering local communities sustainable income sources selling carbon credits. Rimba Makmur Utama won the Sustainable Business Awards Indonesia in 2018 and was chosen as the most committed new member by IGN, the Local Network of the United Nations Global Compact, in 2019.
