The Metropolitan Mayor of Quito is the highest administrative and political authority of the Metropolitan District of Quito. It is the head of the town hall and representative of the Municipality. The Metropolitan Mayor leads the executive branch of the Metropolitan Autonomous Government. The present Metropolitan Mayor is Mauricio Rodas, from the political party SUMA.

Among other powers and responsibilities, the current Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador entrusts to the Metropolitan Mayors of Quito the administration authority accompanied by a Metropolitan Council made up of 21 legislator.The Metropolitan Mayor assumes the role of the Regional Governor within the District.
