Jan Sahas is a national grassroots organization committed to ensuring dignity and equality for all. For 20 years, it has worked with excluded communities for safe migration, prevention of sexual violence against women and children, eradication of forced labour practices like trafficking, manual scavenging, bonded labour and commercial sexual exploitation of children. Partnering with community-based organizations, philanthropies and governments, it works in 12,000 villages and urban areas in 62 districts throughout 9 states in India with a team of 900 professionals and field staff and 3,000 community-based volunteers. Ninety percent of its staff is from excluded communities.
