Franz Haniel & Cie is a German family equity company that has been headquartered in Duisburg-Ruhrort since it was founded in 1756. The family-owned holding company pursues a long-term investment strategy. Its portfolio currently consists of four divisions: BekaertDeslee, CWS-boco and ELG (wholly-owned investments), TAKKT (majority investment) and METRO GROUP (minority investment). In 2015, the group generated sales of €3.8 billion. It has more than 12,900 employees.
