Forest Peoples Programme

Forest Peoples Programme supports the rights of peoples who live in forests and depend on forests for their livelihoods. It works to create political space for forest peoples to secure their rights, control their lands and decide their own futures. Its goals include: getting the rights and interests of forest peoples recognized in laws, policies and programmes; supporting forest peoples to build their own capacities to claim and exercise their human rights; and countering policies and projects that threaten the rights of forest people.
