EveryLayer is a for-profit social enterprise enabling internet service providers (ISPs) to deliver radically low-cost broadband in emerging markets. Surf Kenya, its first ISP, offers low- and middle-income consumers fast, affordable internet at over 1,000 public Wi-Fi hotspots across Kenya and is the largest provider of Wi-Fi hotspots in the market. With prices lower than mobile data and advertising-supported free entry-level options, Surf aims to enable Kenyans to better access the internet to improve their lives and to demonstrate a model for replication in other emerging markets.
