Dioxycle commercializes a breakthrough electrolysis technology to clean up ethylene, one of the world's most used organic chemicals, which is present in everyday products from medical devices to textiles and building materials. Dioxycle replaces the industry's legacy highly emitting fossil fuel-based crackers with an electrochemical process that builds ethylene up from carbon emissions using renewable electricity. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of ethylene, Dioxycle has the potential to abate 800 million tonnes of CO2 per year, representing 1-2% of the world’s emissions. DIOXYCLE is supported by world-class funders including Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Gigascale Capital with $37 million raised to date.
