Birkenstock

Birkenstock is a shoe manufacturer headquartered in Neustadt (Wied), Germany. The company sells Birkenstock, a German brand of sandals and other shoes notable for their contoured cork and rubber foot beds, which conform somewhat to the shape of their wearers' feet. Founded in the late 18th century, the company is still in family ownership, but now with an external CEO. Birkenstock is expanding into new product segments, such as skin care and beds and mattresses.
