Since 1937, Alkaloid has been active in the production of pharmaceuticals, botanicals, cosmetics and chemical products. It has two profit centres; one daughter company in Macedonia; 14 subsidiaries abroad; and one foundation. Alkaloid has dominant capital held by some 5,110 private shareholders, out of which almost 8% are foreign investors. Alkaloid products are marketed in 30 countries. Since 1998, the company has invested more than €100 million, mainly in cutting-edge technologies, standards, laboratories and facilities in the pharma sector.
