Director, Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum

Bachelor’s in the History of Art and French Literature, Bates College, Maine; Master’s in Medieval Art, New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. Former Director of Development, The Calhoun School in New York City. 1995-2001, held several leadership positions at The Museum of Modern Art; raised funds and awareness for the museum’s Yoshio Taniguchi building project. With Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City: 12 years in various leadership positions; has advanced Cooper Hewitt’s mission to educate, inspire and empower people through design; spearheaded the museum’s most ambitious capital campaign to date, which raised nearly $91 million toward the transformation of the nation’s design museum into a dynamic, global resource for the public understanding of design; since 2013, Director. Member: Board of Trustees, Rhode Island School of Design; Royal College of Art U.S.A. Board; Applied Arts and Design Museum Network; NYCxDesign Steering Committee and 2020 Advisory Group; Fast Company's Impact Council. Honorary Committee Member, Salon | Art + Design. Served as a panellist for the 2017 U.S. Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Recipient of awards and honours, including: Chevalier of France’s Order of Arts and Letters (2018).
