How Majik Water, A Kenyan Start-Up, Makes Water From Air?

Kenyan start-up Majik Water is making water from air. The company's technology can supply clean water even in arid regions. Majik Water's devices are delivering more than 200,000 litres of clean water every month.

How Majik Water's device makes water from air

  • Majik Water's devices work like a dehumidifier.
A machine pulls in air through an electrostatic filter.
  • The air then passes over a refrigerated coil, where the moisture condenses.
  • The condensed water is then funnelled into a holding tank.

More than 1 in 2 Kenyans lack access to clean drinking water. The country is suffering its worst drought in 40 years. More than 90% of its open water sources are either depleted or dried up.

Majik Water's devices provide a sustainable solution to the water crisis in Kenya. The devices are affordable and easy to use. Also, they can be used in any location, regardless of the climate.

Majik Water is part of UpLink and HCL's Aquapreneur Innovation Initiative. This collaboration will help Majik Water scale its operations and reach more people in need.
