This Haptic Technology Body Suit Brings the Metaverse to Life

It’s made of pouches filled with special fluid which can act like human muscles, expanding or contracting with a tiny electric current. The suit can create the sensation of a bird landing on your outstretched arm or what it would feel like to stand on Mars. It uses ‘haptic’ technology, which creates the experience of touch by vibrations, forces and other motions.

The Meta Suit is a body suit that uses haptic technology to create the sensation of touch in the metaverse. It is made of pouches filled with a special fluid that can act like human muscles. The suit is still a prototype, but it has the potential to make the metaverse more immersive and interactive.

Haptic Technology

Haptic technology is a type of technology that creates the experience of touch. It can be used to simulate the feeling of physical objects, such as a bird landing on your arm or standing on Mars. The Meta Suit uses haptic technology to create a more immersive experience in the metaverse.

Other Applications

The Meta Suit could also be used for other applications, such as helping film directors track actors' movements or helping Parkinson's sufferers with their gait. The soft-robotic muscles in the suit could send signals to a central computer, which could then be used to track the actor's movements or help the Parkinson's sufferer walk more naturally.

Future of the Metaverse

The World Economic Forum has launched the Defining and Building the Metaverse Initiative to help define the future of the metaverse. The initiative is focused on two core areas: governance and economic and social value creation. The goal is to ensure that the metaverse is economically viable, interoperable, safe, and inclusive.
