‘Hello Tractor’ App Is Helping Half a Million African Farmers

Tractors are huge savers of time, money and energy but not every farmer has the means to buy one. Hello Tractor lets them hire vehicles for short periods. When they make the booking, the nearest available tractor arrives on schedule. Every tractor is fitted with Internet of Things (IoT) technology so its owner can monitor their tractor’s usage, fuel levels and maintenance needs, all from their phone. So far, the Hello Tractor app has helped 500,000 farmers in 15 countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania. 86% of Hello Tractor’s users live below the poverty line of $5 a day.
