Dubai’s Desolenator is Using Solar To Distil Seawater

By 2030, the UN estimates that there will be a 40% deficit in freshwater. Desalination is one of the fastest-growing means to address this issue. But current methods use fossil fuels and chemicals that pollute the ocean. Enter Dutch start-up Desolenator. Desolenator uses solar energy to distill seawater and even contaminated water into clean, fresh drinking water at a low cost. It doesn’t use membranes, harmful chemicals, or need any external power source, making it a circular system that is also ocean safe. Watch the video to learn more about how Desolenatorturns seawater into drinkable water.
