Animal Populations Have Dropped 69% Since 1970
The Living Planet Index monitors 5,200 species of mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish. The latest report found animal populations are down by an average of 69%. In some cases, it is even worse. The WWF said that the findings are code red for the planet. Here’s more on what animal populations have declined and why.
