Partnering Against Corruption Initiative Annual Report 2012
The work of the Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI) is guided by two objectives: to help set the global anti-corruption agenda at a strategic policy level, and to drive change in key markets through targeted initiatives and partnerships. In 2012, PACI’s engagement with G20 governments – through the B20 – reached new heights with the presentation to the G20 leaders meeting in Los Cabos of a set of business recommendations. The B20 proposals, which were reflected in the Leaders’ Declaration, were the result of a year-long process of dialogue and consultation with the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group. The decision by Russia to include “growth through trust and transparency” (with a focus on fighting corruption) as one of the core themes of its G20 Presidency in 2013 is a heartening recognition of the work achieved by the B20 to advance the strategic importance of transparency and integrity issues on the global governance agenda.
