As the global Electric Vehicle (EV) market expands this white paper serves as an opportunity statement and examines the value chain and the opportunities presented in the circular economy for the EV batteries: recycling, reuse and repurposing. The aim is to enable transboundary movement of end-of-life EV batteries to foster circularity by enforcing regulation and transparency of transactions to prevent irresponsible disposal. The solution space includes policy programmes and pilots on reverse logistics, traceability technologies and chain of custody disclosures.
