The trend towards increasing longevity continues to accelerate. Globally, the 65+ population is growing faster than all other age groups. Based on current demographic trends, it is no longer improbable that many will live to 100 years old.
Ensuring that individuals are financially secure in an age of increased longevity will require the development of new thinking and innovative multi-stakeholder solutions. In partnership with Mercer, the World Economic Forum is launching “Redesigning Retirement: Financial Wellness for the 100-Year Life” to catalyze such thinking and action that will help redesign retirement and strengthen financial wellness in later life.
Launching in April 2020, this initiative will be conducted entirely virtually through three regional workshops focusing on how to reimagine retirement and financial wellness in the 100-year life. The ideated solutions from the virtual workshops will be collated into a “Redesigning Retirement” guide, to be presented at the 2021 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
