Yi Jin, born in 1980 in China, got his PHD in Materials Science in USTC (University of Science and Technology of China). After three years working as a research scientist in Lithing Energy Technology Company, he joined China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) in 2011. Now he is a senior researcher and the director of Energy Storage Battery Materials research group.

Dr. Jin has been deeply engaged in research of energy storage materials, batteries and distributed Energy Storage System (ESS). He hosted a National Key Research and Development Programs of China: Life Prediction and Safety Assessment on Sodium-ion battery and module. He has (co-) authored over 30 papers and filed 16 patents and patent applications. As co-author, his two books in energy storage have been published.

Yi lives in Beijing with his wife and a 6-year-old daughter. Yi loves rock music, soccer and hiking.
