BSc, Biochemistry, Nanjing Univ.; MSc, Animal Science, Michigan State; MMath & PhD in Statistics, Univ. of Waterloo. Work explores using statistical modelling to predict new or future populations, i.e. what prediction performance of the current model can be expected for new population, how to evaluate performance in complex scenarios, and how to maximize the prediction performance of current models. Also engaged in applied health research, incl. on new approaches to evaluating evidence for drug & intervention effectiveness for rare diseases, identifying how physical activity can be used to inform clinical recommendations to improve outcomes for breast cancer survivors. Interests: analysing predictive models to gain insight into explanatory relationship between outcome and independent variables.
