Nicolas Hieronimus was born in Paris on 3rd January 1964. His father was a manager in television and his mother an engineer in the aerospace industry. He graduated from the ESSEC Business School in 1985 and has spent his entire career at L’Oréal.
He had previous professional experiences in the UK and Mexico.
Mr. Hieronimus previous positions at L’Oréal include President L’Oréal Luxe, then President Selective Divisions (Luxe, Active Cosmetics, Professional Products).
On 1 May 2017, he was appointed to the newly created role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the L’Oréal Group in charge of the Group’s four Divisions (Consumer Products, Active Cosmetics, L’Oréal Luxe and Professional Products), as well as Digital.
On 20 April 2021, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal. He therefore became the sixth chief executive in the Group’s 100-year history.
