Marilyne Andersen

Professor, Sustainable Construction Technologies and Dean, School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC), Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)

MSc in Physics; PhD in Building Physics, EPFL, Switzerland and LBNL, California. Former Associate Professor, Building Technology Program, MIT. 2004, founded MIT Daylighting Lab, becoming its Head. At EPFL, Switzerland: Full Professor in Sustainable Construction Technologies; Dean, School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering; since 2010, Head of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID). Research focuses on building performance in the architectural context, with a special interest in the use and optimization of daylight and passive solar strategies. Author of over 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. Recipient of awards. including: three best paper awards; Taylor Technical Talent Award, Illuminating Engineering Society; EPFL Chorafas prize in sustainability for PhD thesis.
