Malcolm has been the Chief Executive of Christchurch Airport since January 2014 and has held a number of senior governance roles within New Zealand’s transport and tourism sectors.

The Airport has an estimated market value of circa 2.6 billion (up on circa 1.2 billion since 2015) and is experiencing substantial growth in its international aviation network, retail businesses and investment property development (running at circa 100m in new development p.a.).
The Airport has partnered in the first New Zealand trial for a fully autonomous vehicle and has partnered with Alibaba Group to develop a data driven platform to create micro exporting opportunities for small to medium regional businesses.
