Kithmina Hewage

Kithmina is a political-economist working at the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS) as a Research Officer. His work is mainly based on foreign direct investment, international trade policy, and private sector development. Kithmina completed his undergraduate degree at the Johns Hopkins University with departmental and university honours. He graduated from University College London (UCL) with an MSc. in International Public Policy and authored a thesis on the political-economy of foreign aid at the World Trade Organization (WTO). His other publications discuss issues such as the influence of victim-politics in post-conflict societies, improving regional cooperation through aid for trade, and investor-state dispute settlement mechanisms. His articles have also appeared in the International Public Policy Review and The Diplomat. Kithmina is a member of the Global Shapers Community, a multi-stakeholder initiative of the World Economic Forum.
