Justin Whitmore

Executive Vice-President, Alternative Proteins and Chief Sustainability Officer, Tyson Foods

Justin Whitmore is putting sustainability at the heart of Tyson Foods’ business. In his role with the largest U.S. food company, he leads Tyson’s holistic approach to sustainability, which includes Environmental, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Worker Health and Safety, Animal Welfare, and Corporate Social Responsibility teams. He also leads enterprise-wide Continuous Improvement at Tyson Foods. Justin is a member of Tyson Foods' enterprise leadership team and reports to President and CEO Noel White. An energetic problem-solver, Justin is channeling Tyson Foods’ size and scale to tackle some of the biggest sustainability challenges facing the world today. His teams are setting bold goals, including a commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 30 percent by 2030. Rallying diverse stakeholders together around common solutions is one of Justin’s biggest strengths – a skill that will be critical as he and Tyson Foods take a leadership role in reshaping the global food system. Prior to joining Tyson Foods, Justin was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he advised leading food companies on strategy, performance transformation, and sustainable operations. He previously worked as a consultant at Booz & Company (now Strategy&) and in production management, process engineering and procurement roles at Johnson Controls, Inc. Justin earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He currently serves on the Corporate Advisory Board at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
