Julie Bédard is Partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom where she focuses on international litigation and arbitration. She advises clients on the drafting of dispute resolution clauses and has served as counsel in international arbitration proceedings under the auspices of the ICC, ICDR, AAA and ICSID. Prior to joining Skadden, Bédard practiced law in Canada, served as a law clerk on the Supreme Court of Canada and taught LLM students at Columbia University. She also worked at the Court of Justice of the European Communities and the Secretariat of the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce. Bédard is a frequent lecturer and author on international litigation and arbitration issues. Her work has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, the Global Arbitration Review's International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration and Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Commercial Arbitration Experts. She received Euromoney's Women in Business Law Award for “Best in Commercial Arbitration” in 2012 and 2013.
