Hu Min

Executive Director and Founder, Institute for Global Decarbonization Progress (iGDP)

HU Min is the President and co-founder of the Institute of Global Decarbonization Progress (iGDP), a think-tank specializing in subnational climate and clean energy development. HU Min is also an Adjunct Professor at IE University (Spain), School of Politics, Economics, and Global Affairs. Min has over 20 years of research and advocacy experience in sustainable development. Her projects and research have ranged from climate policy and green finance to cooling efficiency and air quality management. She was involved in efforts to assist China in initiating its carbon market pilots and low-carbon economic growth pilots in 2010. She has published articles and co-edited books on low-carbon cities and environmental governance.
HU Min led the China and Access to Cooling Initiatives of the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program, directed Climate and Air Quality Programs at the Energy Foundation China and was the Executive President of the Beijing Institute of Finance and Sustainability.
Hu Min received a BA in Economics from Renmin University, where she later studied part-time in the Environmental Economics doctoral program. She received her first MPA on Civil Society from Tsinghua University and a Mid-Career MPA from Harvard Kennedy School. She was a non-resident senior fellow at Brookings-Tsinghua Center and a senior fellow at Energy Innovation.
