Hu Min

Executive Director and Founder, Institute for Global Decarbonization Progress (iGDP)

Hu Min is Executive Director and co-founder of Institute of Global Decarbonization Progress (iGDP), a public policy consultancy specializing in subnational climate and clean energy actions. Hu Min has almost 20 years of research and advocacy experience in clean energy and sustainable development. Her projects and research have ranged from climate policy and green finance to cooling efficiency and air quality management. She was involved in efforts to assist China in initiating its carbon market pilots and low carbon economic growth pilots in 2010. She has published articles and co-edited books on low-carbon cities and environmental governance, and spoken at numerous international climate and energy forums.
Hu Min was also the Executive President of Institute of Finance and Sustainability. She has extensive experiences with international organizations including China Advisor and the Head for Access to Cooling in LDCs for the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program and Program Director for the Low Carbon Economic Growth and Environmental Management programs at Energy Foundation China.
Hu Min received a BA in Economics from Renmin University, where she studied part-time in the Environmental Economics doctoral program. She received her first MPA from Tsinghua University and a Mid-Career MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, where she was a Mason Fellow.
