Professor of Engineering and Public Policy, Carnegie Mellon University

1999, Bachelor's in Materials Science and Engineering, 2003, Master's in Technology Policy and 2006, PhD in Engineering Systems, MIT. Professor, Department of Engineering and Public Policy, Carnegie Mellon University. Research focuses on the development, commercialization and global manufacturing of emerging technologies, and national policy in that context. Founding Faculty Director, Carnegie Mellon University's Manufacturing Futures Initiative, spanning six schools and 60 faculty. Over past decade, significant role in national and international meetings on the future of advanced manufacturing, including one of 23 participants in the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology workshop that led to the creation of the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership, and serving the White House in the 2016 Innovation Dialogue between the US and China. Currently, on the National Academies' National Materials and Manufacturing Board (NMMB), the National Academies' committee that just released the Assessment of the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E), and the World Economic Forum's Future of Advanced Materials Global Agenda Council.
