Enkhuun Byambadorj

Vice-Curator, Ulaanbaatar Hub

Enkhuun is an environmental human rights advocate who works to arm communities and young people with the resources to make the right to a clean, healthy, safe, and sustainable environment a reality, and transform the systems that prevent the realization of this right. Witnessing the adverse health effects of air pollution on her loved ones, she co-founded and is now the Director of Operations of Breathe Mongolia – Clean Air Coalition, a nonprofit with the mission to transform policies, narratives, and sectors to clean our air to protect the climate and champion environmental justice.

Enkhuun is also a Compliance Specialist at URECA LLC working to attain Gold Standard certification for Coal-to-Solar, a community energy transition project democratizing the right to benefit from the carbon credit mechanism.

Enkhuun has a BA in Environment and International Development from McGill University – a combination that has inspired her dedication to advocacy through the multilateral systems. She has advocated for intergenerational equity, environmental justice, and human rights-based approaches in negotiation processes such as the UN Environment Assembly and the formation of the Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste, and Pollution.

She is also a youth climate negotiator in Mongolia’s COP28 and COP29 delegations, Vice-Curator of Ulaanbaatar Hub, Generation Restoration Youth Hub member at 1t.org, Asia Foundation LeadNext Fellow, AstraZeneca Young Health Programme Scholar, Board Member of Climate Mongolia NGO, One Young World Ambassador, and a Lead2030 challenge winner.
