Dharsono Hartono is the CEO of PT Rimba Makmur Utama (PT RMU), a B-Corp
certified company that manages the Katingan Mentaya Project, a 149,800 hectare
peatland forest restoration and conservation project in Central Kalimantan,
Indonesia. The Project is currently the largest Nature-based Solution project verified
by Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) in the world, which generates an average of 7.5
million triple gold certified carbon credits annually. Following a Masters in Financial Engineering from Cornell University in 1998,
Dharsono worked for PwC and JP Morgan Chase in New York, USA. In 2018, Dharsono
won an Indonesian Ernst and Young Entrepreneur Award and the company was one
of the recipients of Indonesia Sustainable Business Award in the same year. In 2020,
he was chosen as one of the Social Innovators of the Year by the Schwab Foundation
and the Sustainability Pioneers by World Economic Forum. He was selected as the
YPO Global Impact Award winner in 2022.
