Angellah Kairuki is a Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs of Tanzania. She is also Secretary-General of the Tanzania Women Parliamentary Group. Previously, she served as Deputy Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional, Legal Affairs and Public Administration, and worked in the attorney-general’s office as Parliamentary Draftsman. Kairuki served as a Member of the Council of the Dar es Salaam Institute of technology, and as an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a Member of Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators. She was also employed by the Vodacom Group as Head of Department of Ethics, Compliance and Governance. Kairuki took part in the inaugural Leadership for Change in Africa programme by the African Leadership Institute, and was mentioned in Forbes magazine’s 2013 class of 20 Young Power Women in Africa. She received an LLB from the University of Hull and PgDL in Legal Practice from Staffordshire University.
