Andrew Bailey

Andrew Bailey (born March 30, 1959) is the current Executive Director Banking and Chief Cashier at the Bank of England. He was appointed to his current role in January 2004 and has several key responsibilities to fulfil. He is also a member of the Governor's Executive Team, which is the bank's senior management group.[1] Bailey's signature appears underneath the amount in £ on the side with the Queen on all bank notes issued by the bank since his appointment.[2] Before joining the Bank of England in 1985, he was Research officer at the London School of Economics. He had previously gained a BA and a Ph.D. whilst studying at Queens' College, Cambridge.
