His Excellency Dr. Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the people's Republic of China, took up his Beijing-based post in October 2017 FIE Dr. Al Dhaheri has joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, United Arab Emirates, in 2017 where he was appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary to the People's Republic of China. After he completed his higher education in United States of America, he immediately joined ADNOC Group of Companies in 1992. Throughout his career with them, he held a wide range of senior positions. 1998-2007: He was Head of the Marketing Research & Analysis Department in the ADNOC Marketing & Refining Directorate, before being appointed as Manager for Planning & Group Coordination in April 2007.lnNovember 2007 he was assigned as General Manager of the National Gas Shipping Company Ltd. (NGSCO). 2009 - 2015: He held the position of Chief Executive Officer of both Abu Dhabi National Tanker Company (ADNATCO) and National Gas Shipping Company Ltd. (NGSCO). 2016:He was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Ruwais Fertilizer Industries (FERTIL). He was also involved in OPEC affairs since 1999 as the UAE National Representative (2001 - 2006) and the UAE Governor for OPEC (2006 - 2016). In addition of being a Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (TAKREER) and Chairman of TAKREER's Board Advisory Committee. He was also Chairman of both the UAE Shipping Association and the DNV GL Technical Meetings UAE, as well as of the Lloyd's Register Middle East and Africa Advisory Technical Committee. And he was Deputy Chairman and Board Member of Emirates General Petroleum Corporation-Emarat (2009 -2017). He holds an Honorary Doctorate of Maritime Laws from the University of Tasmania in Australia, an MBA from South Eastern University, Washington D.C. and BSc in Economics and Political Science from the University of Southern Indiana in United States of America.
